Friday Five

1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not? I'm an admin for an e-business architecture group. Yes, I chose to be doing this @ this point in my life. I've always wanted to work in an environment that offers a wealth of opportunity for growth, but most of all, I enjoy a job with lots of different roles. There is nothing like being an admin :)

2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be? Working from home writing stories and making web pages.

3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices? My dad was a USDA Meat Inspector and tubby works for the County Sheriff's Dept. As far as having influence on my own career choices, I'd say not really.

4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family? No.

5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why? The easiest job in the world is having one that you love to do, the hardest one would be hating hating the job you do.

Restlessness

The jiggling of the foot, the grinding of the teeth, the brain thinking and thinking but not coming up with a damned thing.

Yes, I'm afraid so; the restlessness is upon me.

There's nothing to do and everything to do, the urge is there to do 'em all and the urge not to do 'em rests parallel to that. Where to go and what to do. It's all there waiting...waiting yet not wanting to wait. The choices are vast and the results that they will be made are slender.

I do know one thing 'tho - if that guy next to my office cube passes gas one more freakin' time, I'm going to roll my chair up to the partition, climb on it and peek over the wall and say to this person, "DO YOU MIND?!"

I mean, I have enough crap to worry about without constantly being interrupted by a bodily function that isn't coming from my body!

Sheesh - some people!

110 Degrees

Yes, it is and yep I'm dyin' in this heat. OK, it isn't that bad when you have an air conditioned apartment and work in an air conditioned building. I'm just not the kind of person that enjoys any day past 85 degress. Today, it's so flippin' hot, it's unhealthy; it's a "Spare the Air Day" here in Sacramento and it's supposed to be the same for most of the week. I am seriously thinking of working from home since I have allergies that love to play when the heat is up and my resistance is down.

My cousin, Jane, just discovered she has the Nimda virus on her 'puter. Of course, I'm leaving work early to run home and check my 'puter. We've been exchanging files like crazy since we've gotten BratGammon up and running. It's a first time virus for her, so she is more than just a little panicky - I believe she has scanned her 'puter three times already using different anit-virus programs.

Jane and her family are coming up for the weekend (YAY!) 'cos tante misses the kids so much. Hopefully, Jane and I can hook up so she can teach me a few things in the Head TD/Sr. Admin department. Me is not up-to-speed on that yet. I've been buried in html, but that is the way of our partnership - Jane's the gammon guru and I'm the amateur web developer.

Currently, BratGammon has over 100 members . Not too shabby considering that we just premiered the site in Halsoft back on July 28th. Yes, that's 2002 - heh. Granted, not all the members are playing on our ladder yet, but in time, we hope that BratGammon will be one of the busiest top gammon sites in Halsoft.

The goal seems simple enough and we're both enjoying the work it is taking to reach it. Hell this is more fun than any job I've ever had!

It's been awhile. . .
Well, I went and finally got my own domain - yay!

Other than that, I've been extremely busy focused on a site that my cousin and I have created together. It's a backgammon ladder site. We almost have 100 members. Pretty great for not even being online for a month; it's been a little over two weeks now. Have a look at BratGammon. You have to be a member of Halsoft. It's a chatting place utilizing the chat program more popularly known as VP. This is the same program that Excite used before it went unda. Seems the folks of Halsoft bought it. There is a cost to use it, but it keeps out the booters and troublemakers for the most part. I mean, they're still in there, but not nearly as much as when the chat program was free. Anyhow, if you want, take a visit as a guest to see what it's like.

I've been so involved with BratGammon that I haven't worked that hard in passing the songs for the upcoming performance in October. Although, I did order my costume - a whoppin' $150!!. Dangit! That's not even counting the shoes and all the other accessories that go with it. And, that's just one costume! I must admit that singing with the chorus is an expensive hobby!

Well, I have to scoot - so much to dooooo!

Take it ease!
