Woe is Kernyen
How's it going? Good I hope.

OK my turn.

I caught a bad cold about a week ago and as I was getting over it, my back went out.

My kid deleted her myspace account and I find myself feeling sad about it. It was another way to stay connected with her. Now I'll just have to count on seeing her every day at work instead and it's not the same (whine). I really enjoyed seeing her interact with her friends on her myspace. Kept me informed (if you know what I mean).

And then I'm breaking out like I was a 13-year old! What's up with that? Slap some braces on my teeth, give me a backpack and I'm set to start middle school!

A Pink Bag & a Content Goat
Sorry, I know it's been awhile since I've posted. A lot has been going on, including getting sick. I'm in the last stages of a bad cold.

A couple of weekends ago, I did a little girly shopping and went to Victoria Secret's to buy myself some lotion and I walked out of there feeling far too excited about the pink shopping bag that was given to me with my purchases safely tucked away inside. I walked out of there happily swinging my pink bag, proudly displying it. "Uh-huh, that's right - I got myself a cute pink bag and I be looking sexy - you know it. Don't pretend you're not looking at my shiny pink bag!"

And I was real careful about making sure that my JC Penney's bag was under my pink bag.

Last weekend, mom, Buv, Jennifer and I went to the California State Fair! We had a good time - it wasn't that hot, which was a great relief. Buv always likes to visit the livestock and I don't know why because it's sad to see all those animals looking miserable in their stalls or chained up to grooming posts. Although I was able to get a snapshot of a goat that looked pretty content as he ate his lunch.

Fair Food: Corn dog, onion rings, corn-on-the-cob and cotten candy - THUMBS UP!! But dammit I forgot to buy myself a candied apple!

I'm Noodles. Who the hell are you?
Meet my favorite feline, Noodles. I took about an hour out of my time and snapped about a gazillion photos and out of those, three came out half-way decent. Isn't she a cutie? She's a sweet and loveable little thing. You just can't hold her unless it's on her terms. She behaves like a lioness and this behavior entertains me greatly. She has that rolling walk and when she is resting regally on whatever she chooses to lay on, she's thinking, "Bow to me now, you inadequate human." Of course she gets frustrated when I just pick her up and give her lovin'..."Not now," she's thinking as she pushes her paws against me. "Your messing up my furrrrrah!"

She even has her own little tv table because she's spoiled rotten. And look at her tail - it's big huh? She must take after my mom's side of the family - they all have big tails.

Noodles can act any way she wants because I know it's all a big front. She's a people cat and loves to be around people, especially her mommy (I just love that).

About 99% of the photos that I take of Noodles ends up looking just like this one (sighs). Hey what do you think of her new pink collar? Pretty damned pink, isn't it? She loves it because it makes her feel girly. If she could, she'd wear earrings and a toe ring. She has been begging me to buy her a cat charm, the letter "N" encrusted with rhinestones. Now come on...

Will it Never End?
Today started out dandy.

I got myself a traffic citation for doing a rolling stop.

Very Good Tip
Went and got my hair colored and cut, my usual routine about every 6-8 weeks. Well I accidentally gave my hair stylist about a $30 tip. My intention was to give her $10, but what could I do? Ask her for it back? Rigghhht.

Game Night
Last night was game night. We played Chicken Feet (some call it Chicken Foot), which is a domino game. In attendance were my cousins Janice and Jodi, my sister, niece and daughter. As usual we were loud, obnoxious and LOUD! That is one thing about our family - we don't do quiet so well and we're damned proud of it.

I made dinner and Kim, who thought that I didn't make enough, bought more dinner (Chinese food). So we ended up having enough food to feed my entire neighborhood, but of course we didn't share because we're pigs.

It's too bad that the lemon meringue pie and mini chocolate eclairs that Jodi and Jane brought over won't last a week. OK dammit, they're already gone. Yeah. Kim and Bran ate 'em all up, the whores.

::: whistling :::

As we began to play Chicken Feet, we had shots of Goldschlager Cinnamon Schnapps - that is with the exception of Jodi, who couldn't wait (Jodi you're such a lush) ===>>

And Jodi? I don't want to be no stoopit deckhand!

Then there was Mari acting her usual silly/bad-ass self, which is why we love her so much (she paid me to write this).

The highlight of the evening was seeing Brandy. She just graduated out of Naval school; she is now a fire fighter for the US Navy. She is based out of San Diego, but will be headed to Japan for about a month in less than two weeks.

Welcome back home, Bran -xoxo!

Tonight I have to do some grocery shopping in preparation for game night tomorrow. Then I have to straighten up my apartment. This sucks. I wish I was rich so I could hire a personal shopper and a maid.

Cuzzy, in case you're reading, here is the menu.

  • Roast pork (or pork stew if I cannot find a decent pork shoulder)

  • Shitake mushrooms

  • Salad

  • Steamed rice

  • Wine/soda

  • Whatcha bringin' for dessert?

That's what I'm talkin' aboouuttt!

Night Owl Converses with Herself ~
"I'm such the night owl even when I am wiped out." (gives a sigh) "It's quite ridiculous."

"Indeed."

(another sigh)

"I say, is that your hair laying there on the ground?"

(looks down at the floor)

"Why yes it is. It appears my hair is falling out. Strange."

"Indeed."
